What happens when Claude gets drunk? This Claude Code skill is breaking the internet
👤 Who This Is For
When I first saw the name «Drunk Claude», I assumed it was a joke. Then I read the README and found myself impressed by how seriously it takes its own premise — this isn't a toy, it's a genuinely useful Claude Code skill that makes Claude produce more creative ideas.
The author's core insight is brilliant: alcohol lowers inhibition, not intelligence. The reason Claude sometimes feels like it's playing it safe is because it's aligned to be «polite, correct, and risk-averse». The «drunk» persona essentially gives Claude permission to share the ideas it already has but normally self-censors.
The implementation is thoughtful: an intensity slider from 0.1 (tipsy, still relatively normal) to 1.0 (blackout, pure chaotic genius), plus 5 «drunk moods» and 8 creative techniques. The author's quality standard is hilarious and oddly effective: «Would someone screenshot this and post it on Twitter?» If not, the idea doesn't leave the bar.
What I find most interesting about this project is the serious question hiding inside the meme: do we actually want AI assistants to always be so «proper»? Sometimes a good idea comes precisely from an «improper» angle. 159 stars — not huge, but every single one is from someone who actually tried it. For brainstorming sessions, this skill is genuinely worth a shot.
